Starting
I have a 2003 Club Car Carry all 2 with a FE350 engine. I would like to be able to start it with the kee instead of the foot peddle. Is that possible and if so how do you do it. Thanks for your help

Re: Starting
Well... most would think that all you need is a key switch with an off/on/momentary start, a couple extra wires, and a relay!
BUT... it's not that easy! All "key start" Club Car engines have an ACR (Automatic Compression Relief valve) for the ease of turning the engine over without overloading the ignition circuit wires when starting. If you have this tag on your engine: (and most likely you do) 021 (3).JPG It'll take more then just a key switch and some wiring to make it work! |

Re: Starting
Right now I can turn the key on and put it in forward or reverse and pust the gas pedle and it will start and keep running when I put it in N it will stop then I turn the Key off. My Grandson figured out how to do this but I don't know if I am messing anything up. What makes the starter/altanator change from starter to altanator

What makes the starter/altanator change from starter to altanator
It starts to make more amps than it is drawing as it speeds up. |

Re: Starting
It's a starter / generator not alternator. It's a DC Motor. When you turn a DC motor it becomes a generator. When the engine turns it the voltage output is greater than the 12V battery. The Voltage Regulator controls the charge current so you don't over charge the battery.

I have mine set up as a key start. Then it runs until I turn the kew off. Runs in F/N/R. I have no problems with it.

Why would starting it with the key be any different than starting it with the pedal??? Same starter etc..... Just activating the same start circuit with key instead....

Instructions came in the kite from BU. It included the 200rpm spring, a relay and wiring harness and the instructions. I'll look and see if I still have the paperwork. You could easily make the harness and buy a $5 relay to make it work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
