Rev Limiter/Back Fire
I had disconnected the govenor last year but with rev limiter intack. On our campsite the speed limit is 10km/hr but there is an area outside I opened it up a little - the rev limiter kicked in but no backfire. I think it happened 3 times and I kept the speed down after that. Now I want to put the govenor back in place. I suppose no damage was done if no backfire...correct? I certainly do not want to damage my cart and will have to wait on getting the proper single cylinder Tach (bought an analog).

Re: Rev Limiter/Back Fire
What year is your cart again? I wouldn't worry about motor damage just from bumping the rev limiter, I'm sure your cart is fine.
