Default Controller is shot

I've been reading the threads and seem to be at a stand still. Currently have a stock Curtis controller on my 2004 MPT 1000. Stock motor, 2/0 welding cables from the yard, bought the HD solenoid but didn't install yet, new batts. Just trying to figure if I go with the Curtis or alltrax, 400 or 500. In the future I'd like to upgrade the motor. Just trying to take baby steps but power up my 205/65's. any thoughts?

if I were you.....I would bite the bullet and go with a AllTrax 500, that is if you are going to ultimately upgrade your motor. this way once you are ready for the motor upgrade, you are already set with the rest of the system.

Done. Thank you Sir. And now for shopping. Evmotors on eBay seems to have the best price. Suggestions for the purchase? Any pitfalls for install? Inherent problems?

for starters, for electronics, I personally stay way from ebay, if you have a problem, you are in a pickle most of the time. If I were to be spending my hard earned money, I would be looking to one of our sponsors here on this site. and although he has complete packages already of which you already have a portion of it, I would be giving ScottyB a call at CartsUnlimited.net and talk to him. He has the best, bar none, customer service I have seen in a long time.......and the install instructions he supplies you with, you will have no problems.
