Default 1984 ezgo two stroke

I have a 1984 ezgo two stroke, I have a newly rebiult I installed an elecric fuel pump,( I was going to convert to 20 hp 4 stroke) but I rebuilt the two stroke. Cart ran great for two weeks. I left the cart at the lake so my buddy could use it. When I returned would not start. checked everything,no spark so I replaced the coil pack. It started and ran for one minute, then dies. it will start right back up and dies. So I relaced the solenoid and battery today.
same problem, this is driving me nuts.

I can only assume the igniter has gone bad, it looks like a small cube with 5 wires comming out of it (I think). It should be next to the voltage regulator. I haven't seen one of those carts in an easy 20 years or so any info from me would be a guess. You can pm Bob-O, he may know about it. I know he has worked on some of the older carts. look up his name in the members list.

did you take the head off? I know with 2 stroke dirtbikes the head has to be torqued down to a certain spec or it gets too high of a compression.
