Cart keeps running
I have an ez go st sport 2+2. When i let off the gas it continues to run. It looks like the butterfly inside the carb is not closing all the way. I have the the idle screw back all the way out but its seem to be sticking open just about a 1/8 of an inch or so and keeps running. Any help appreciated.

Re: Cart keeps running
I took off the rod that is attached to the butterfly and it will not close all the way. The only way I can stop is to put the choke on or push the butterfly closed with m finger.

Re: Cart keeps running
If you can push it closed with your finger then the return spring may be too weak.

Re: Cart keeps running
Describe better what you mean by keeps running.
Is it just sputtering, and dieseling along, or is it actually idling and getting spark? It's important to know if the solenoid is still engaged, and if it's actually running. |

Re: Cart keeps running
It seems to idle at low speed and continues to run even with the key off. It does not seem to be sputtering or anything or dieseling. Its a smooth low rpm idle.

Re: Cart keeps running
Turning off the key eliminates a stuck pedal switch. You would need them both to make contact to keep running.
It sounds like your solenoid is welding itself shut. |

Re: Cart keeps running
I actually like the fact that it stay idling and not shutting off. I may just put a kill switch on the coil wire.
