Help to see if motor works!!

I have a old Club Car with a 36V system(late 70's model)

. Can I use three 12V batteries instead of six 6V batteries to test it and see if it works or runs?? If so, would the wiring basically be the same or not?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I am a newbie on the forum and am very new to the golf cart thing...

yes you can do this as a test only....dont think the car batteries or even deep cycle marine batteries will work for any length of time though...but its perfectly OK to use for test purposes only if you have them laying around

You can use 1 12 volt battery if needed to check the motor.

And if you happen to need a motor those fine folks build them.
