Can you elaborate on the “pop in a dime or two” part of your response?

Dime or two - are you referring to grease?

Is the coupler on the motor or the black rubber circle on the differential?

But if you're hearing little cluckety noises especially when going or coasting downhill, that's motor coupler noise, and the easiest way to solve it is to remove motor, pull the rubber cap inside the coupler out, pop in a dime or two, and put cap back in, then reinstall the motor and it's good as new again. Motors for RXVs are expensive.

If you got actual rear end whine caused by insufficient or improperly maintained gear oil, I've never been able to solve it. I've tried stuff like lucas, thicker oil, and yes, even the old car salesman scam involving sawdust, but it never works.

If you remove the motor off any electric cart (including RXVs) there's a welded on coupler on the motor shaft (inside the motor and this is the part that links up to the input shaft on the rear end). Inside this coupler, there's a tiny rubber plug. As these couplers wear they eventually make little 'cluckety cluckety' noises especially when coasting downhill or when at top speed as you cruise. Removing the motor, that plug, putting one or two dimes inside then putting the plug back, and reinstalling the motor just shims it up enough to make it silent again. I'm referring to actual dimes, as in coins. You can also use small washers.

I've had a few rxv motors apart and don't remember seeing the rubber piece inside the coupler. Maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention.
