Default Engine racing/adjust governor rod/cable??

1997 club car Villager 8 ( gas fe350) Finallly seem to have fixed the carb problem by replacing the throttle post but now the **** engine races so the drive belt wont disengage. Any ideas on howto correct this problem. It seems to be caused by the governor rod and cable.

I made the fatal error of taking the wires off the reverse alarm and limiter switches without marking them (I know stupid). I think I have them back on right but its impossible to tell for sure. All the wiring diagrams I have do not match the color of the wires that go to the switches and its a 8 seater so its hard to trace the wires back to the alarm, limiters, etc.. I have the racing problem figured out but the engine after warming up still bogs out when accelerated. When its cold it runs great. I did check the line after the air box that goes to the choke button by the driver seat and it may be collapsing where it elbows. Any idea how to remedy this?

I have that one and it has all different wire colors that mine. I appreciate it though Gleemo. I guess I have to drop the harness that runs to the rear of this 8 seater and traceeach wire. Oh joy!!!
