Re: New Batteries-New Charger?
I would bet not, FSIP typically likes to keep it difficult for customers to change parts, program controllera, and do any software changes to the controllers. They like the customer to send things back for repair.

Re: New Batteries-New Charger?
I would stick with the old reliable core and coil chargers. While I have little experience with switching chargers (my pro-tec crapped out) I do have plenty with another type of switching power supply vs the old boat anchor and the old anchor wins for long term reliability every single time. I also see much less potential for catastrophic failure (fire) in the components.

Down side. They are not serviceable. They state that. I need to check the warranty. The instructions state "Do Not Get Wet." I suppose water is bad on any charger. Well don't plan to and I keep everything in a dry spot. I've emailed FSIP a few times with questions. It was a bit like pulling teeth out of a live boar to get answers but I did. It would be so much easier if they did not try to make emails a conversation and just gave me the information I needed up front. One good thing. These chargers maintain the battery voltage. Not quite sure how right now but I aim to understand that. |

Check out this link: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/extre...er-review.html
This install is in an EZGO but there is good info on the charger which is your interest. I'm given to understand that David at http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/ has installed several of these and likes them. If it were me I would contact him (email or phone) to get his read on them. |
