The reason I'm asking if it is green or green and white is because being a 1992 it is a good possibility somebody converted this cart from resistor to controller. From the factory it should be green and white.

As you don't know its history you really need to check all the wiring 100%.

Is it green or green and white?

92 did come with a controller

green/white is to the micro switches

Talked to the original owner. Not a conversion. Had the controller on it. And yes the wire was green and white before it melted. Also noticed that the white and black wire that goes from the m/s to the solenoid is partially melted.

Check all the wiring carefully at the solenoid, I think you have something wired backward/wrong .

Also, are you using a resistor and diode on the solenoid?

Me too. Or backwards along with being wired wrong.
