Re: Runs in Tow Mode
Every time I saw this issue it was related to back-feeding power through the accessory negative wire across an existing fly-back diode.
This can only happen when someone incorrectly wired a 16v->12v reducer without using the same negative reference (pack negative) as the rest of the cart electrical circuit. Can you post a picture of your battery tray showing the wires connected to battery posts? Do you have any additional wires connected to the Solenoid big posts? Another way to narrow down where the voltage is coming from is to measure its value. With the cart in Tow, key switch OFF and FNR in neutral, how much voltage do you measure on the cold side of the key switch? |

Re: Runs in Tow Mode
Well, I think I figured it out. I forgot I had still wired in a harness for a Climate Caddy...48v heater/fan. It was still connected to my key switch. When I disconnected the harness wires and reconnected the blue wire, it worked fine. I guess I'll have to talk with the manufacturer what the issue is. Thanks for the help, Sergio.

Re: Runs in Tow Mode
I am not familiar with the Climate Caddy, but looking at their website, the permanently installed unit has a low current connection to the key switch.
That is likely where the issue is being introduced. If Your dealer can not/will not fix the issue, You can add a 1 amp diode (1N4007) with the stripe (cathode) pointing away from the key switch on the single wire that goes from the key switch to the Climate Caddy. That will prevent that wire from sourcing current back to the key switch. |
