It does have an overdrive switch and another solinoid above the motor

I just picked up a cart like this can you please tell me where the serial # is located also looking for wiring diag has an elect problem short red wire from F & R sw. hot

Check my most recent thread under my username I posted wiring diagrams for westerns there. The serial number should be on passenger side frame rail under the seat stamped into the frame. You may have to wipe it if there is dirt or dust in order to see the numbers. If it looks exactly like the one pictured in this thread it is most likely an ezgo marathon frame and drive system so a marathon wiring diagram should help you out as well in addition to the ones I have posted.

I can see at the upper right hand portion of this pic you can see the serial # this helped me my cart is a 3001284401 what does that tell me other than manfg. in dec. of 84 number 401
what does 300 mean and where can I get a parts breakdown

Please post a photo of your cart and a photo of under the seat. The 300 as the first three numbers is the model 300 that was produced by western.
