Default 1981 Clubcar DS runs by itself / parts not available ?

Hello all,
The family has a 1981 Clubcar DS , serial A8123 22833, that once after being run , will take off by itself when the key is off and the pedal not being pushed. This cart has the 5 solenoids and I am not familiar with it.
They were sold a new forward/reverse switch that says 83.5 and up that is nowhere near the same for mounting. First I thought they were sold the wrong one, but now see that you cant find any info on a forward reverse for the 81 year. Im assuming you have to make this style work ? There is one micro swith on the forward reverse switch and once I checked for Ohms, it had some different readings than a new one they had, so I replaced it. Do you think that was too blame for or could it be something else ? Just want to make sure they are all safe with kids around. Thanks for any help or ideas.

I believe this is your cart.... Does the layout look the same? It is an '81-'85 36v resistor cart

It sounds like one of your solenoids are stuck. They are seen in the top of the drawing. You may need to start there unless the FNR switch is bad too.

Two of the solenoids would have to be stuck to run with the key off. Even if the high speed solenoid was stuck, it couldn't run unless the master solenoid was stuck as well.

So, your thinking the master is faulty ? Also, I misinformed everyone, when parked with the key off, the forward lever was still in forward. That is when it would drive by itself. They way then got it to stop was to move it to neutral.

You definitely have a stuck (closed in) solenoid as voltage is passing thru it.... As Tahoe said, it would be the Master (main) and then one other.... Get your meter out and test them.

Or the micro switch is stuck closed.... you could disconnect the small wire that daisy chains to all the solenoids. Even just cut it where you can but splice it back together. This will tell you if the solenoids or the switches are the trouble.
