Re: What is a good price for my first EZGo TXT hunting project?
48v for sure. Nobody makes 36v carts anymore with the possible exception of Star. 48v is significantly more powerful, more efficient and will run cooler.
Stay with EZGO, Club Car or maybe Yamaha. All are made in Georgia, are plentiful both new and used. Parts are readily available and lots of customization available also. The cart you described in post #1 is a good example. Price seems fair but the batteries are 4 years old. Plan to have to replace them immediately. If they last a year or two more that will be a bonus. With a late model 48v sepex cart all you need to do is change the large power cables, the controller and solenoid to have a powerful, reliable cart. The motor can be upgraded later if needed. These carts can be made into a beast. |

What can I count on budgeting for cables, controller and solenoid on a late model sepex? Trying to put together a palatable budget :)

Re: What is a good price for my first EZGo TXT hunting project?
$699-$799 from a site sponsor. This is for a 400 or 500 amp Alltrax controller, high capacity solenoid, and premium 2 ga welding cables custom made for your particular brand of cart. Also includes a battery state of charge meter and key switch plate from this particular sponsor. These kits are pretty much plug n play. Alltrax controllers are user programable with free software for your windows based laptop. The 500 amp controller can be turned down to minimize the stress on your stock motor but can handle pretty much any optional motor you might want to add later if necessary or desired.
Using the cart you suggested in post #1, this kit would result in increased torque and higher top speed while remaining reliable even with the larger tires normally associated with a lifted cart. Note: this will tax the battery pack and will expose any weakness there. A quality, healthy battery pack is the foundation for any electric cart. -----this is one example------ |

If you go with Carts Unlimited, do yourself a favor and get the Alltrax 500. It’s worth the small price increase over the 400.
