I run led headlamps and taillamps , that use a current controlled ballast, draws 1.6 amps , run it off a small agm battery I put up in the glove box. Have to pull it and charge after 5 night rides

Reducer issues:
* If you wire your reducer on your key switch then when you turn off your key your radio will forget the presets.

The reducer on my 48v cart has both a control wire so 30A output it is turned off & on with the key switch and a dedicated wire that constantly provides power to maintain radio presets.

Nice! I didn't know that was an option. My buddy has the issue where his presets are forgotten every time he gets in the cart, maybe he'll be interested to know about your reducer.

Do you know what kind of drain it has when just using the dedicated wire for presets and the rest is off?

Interesting. Where does the 12v come from when the reducer is off?

This is how I did it. Look at the two factory style charging ports. One for 48v one for the 12v battery. This one charger does both.

I guess the drain would depend on the amp draw required by the radio to keep the presets.

It is a Reliance model 13-030. Probably resold by sponsors of this site.

The reducer has 2 output wires. One is a low current output for maintaining radio presets and the other output comes on when the cart is turned on and can handle up to 30A.
