Default 2012 Precedent I2 Excel - Easily Upgradeable?

According to serial number it's a 2012 Precedent I2 Excel
Serial #: PH1221-283537

Found this cart on CL near my home. $4700. Garaged, clean, 5-7 year old batts, rear folding seat.

Is this I2 Excel cart easily upgradeable for speed accessories?
I read a couple of threads where owners had issues with upgrades for this cart.

Thanks!

On an Excel cart, if you wanna go faster you need to upgrade the controller at a bare minimum. There are a few different options, but "simple" is not one of them.

If you're mechanically savvy, it's not terribly difficult to do, just takes some $$$.
And hail naw I would not pay $4700 for a cart with 5+ year old batteries. That's a $900 expense right off the bat because those batteries are almost certainly not going to last much longer.
I can buy a 2016 cart here right now with brand new batteries, back seat, and custom wheels/brand new tires for almost the same price.

Great looking cart. The Excel car is simple to upgrade. There's nothing about this car that would make it any more difficult than any other Precedent. Originally when the Excel system came out, it wasn't the case. But now, aftermarket controllers are fully compatible with this cart. How fast do you want it to go? What kind of terrain do you ride it on? What's best for one person may not be best for you. Let us know what your plans are for the vehicle and we'll point you in the right direction.

That is an EXCELLENT cart to upgrade. The only thing you see much is the speed magnets do not work on Excels. Only IQ's.

Considering the price and old batteries....I will probably pass if I can;t get it for $4K.

My uses.....

1. Use at home and at campgrounds....Some hilly terrain around my home
2. 3 adults, 1 teen...about 660# total passengers
3. Reliability, length of drive time between charges, and speed up to 25mph
4. Would like to accesorize it with wheels/tires, rear seat, lift it a little...but I need to get it into my toyhauler which has 6' clearance under rear beds....I retractable/drop down roof would be perfect!

Thanks!

You can’t go wrong with a Precedent, though that particular one is fairly overpriced. Good luck and keep us updated!

High speed motor, 500 amp controller, 2 gauge cables, and 400 amp solenoid with diode. It'll be exactly what you want.
