Default Rate Golf Batteries by Manufacturer

Batteries are getting a little hard to find in my neck of the woods. I maintain carts for the members in our club. I have always installed Trojans but when I find them now they are out of sight on price. Which do you personally think are the best, Interstate or US Batteries as I have access to them at a reasonable price.

US Battery are probably top of the top for Golf cart batteries, I would probably put them over Trojan.
Interstate is decent, but tend to be overhyped, and overpriced at least in my area. Just my opinion, Trojan is better than interstate, and if you’re only talking about a difference of $100 or so for the whole pack, take Trojan.

If you really want to save $$$ Duracell at Sams club, usually on sale.

I’d agree with FT4M. I’ve had excellent luck with US batteries. And crown.

If you’re in need of batteries, I’d highly recommend considering lithium drop ins. A bit more expensive but worth every penny of it. From personal experience, I never really cared for electric carts. Liked the quiet but hated the daily maintenance of dealing with the batteries. And the runtime. I ended up trading my gas carryall for an electric DS. Liked the cart a ton but still wasn’t super pleased with the battery stuff. I recently put in lithium batteries and absolutely love it. Zero maintenance and the range is spectacular. Plus allied batteries have an 8 year warranty so they’ll last me a very very long time to come. Installation required bypassing thr OBC but otherwise was a 10 minute install.

Duracell used to be mfg by East Penn/Deka. I formerly worked at a Deka industrial (forklift) battery dealer. On occasion I’d go to the automotive battery warehouse where all the smaller batteries were sold. They had rolls of decals of many rebranded names. One was Bass Pro Shops, and Duracell, others i cant remember, some I’ve never heard of. This changes from time to time for the sub-brand names because the contract for the mfg is renegotiated every so many years. Truth is if you correctly charge and correctly water your batteries, you’ll notice negligible differences, if any between the top names. I have 5 yr Trojans now, running well. Before these i had Deka and they lasted close to 6 years. My cart came with US Battery but they were already bad and I don’t know how old they were. You can kill a US battery in a year or make it last 5+, all depends on usage and how they’re taken care of.

My experience, years ago for automotive, were that interstate batteries were over priced and had tons of warranty returns. Probably doesn’t help you much but when our shop was a dealer for them there were so many returns that now I wouldn’t put 6 of them in my cart.

Went from 6 year old Trojans to US Battery. Trojans are expensive here.
I found a battery supply house close to me that sold US batteries. When I got there, there must have been two pallets of 8V GC batteries and with date codes all the month I purchased.

I don't remember the exact price but it beat the price I was being quoted for other local outfits to order the Trojan's for me.

From the research I did before swapping out my GC batteries, the best of the best were Trojan, US Battery and some other brand, maybe Interstate?

I have tried many brands over the years, hands down I have had the least trouble with Trojans...Which is now all I stock.
