cart will not go into forward or reverse but I do get a solenoid click

First thing is what is the battery pack voltage? Measure it at the ends of the pack and also measure it after the solenoid.

If you lift the rear of the cart off the ground and attempt to go will the wheels creep forward? If they decide to go full speed then make sure you stop it on the quick, with no load you can over-rev your motor.
