Electric 36V 97' Medalist DCS controller melty
Howdy, I've started working on carts that I am less familiar with. I've got an 97' EZGO Medalist with F/R selector under the seat, a Tow switch on the controller cover, listed as a DCS.
Controller looks to be toasty. Cart will move forward slightly, and reverse slightly, until it shuts off and doesn't move. Noted that the solenoid will click and the voltage will drop slightly but then once the cart stops, it shows full pack across the solenoid until the tow switch is flipped. Got some cracking 6g wires coming from the controller, as well. Controller P/N is 73144G06. Tried looking this up, best I can tell it is a 1206xs? I've done some Navitas installs before but it looks like they may only support the 1206mx controller replacement? Not sure if they will work for me or not. Any idea what avenue I should go down next? Thanks! |

You've got a DCS drive with a Curtis 1206SX controller - not a 1206XS.
I'm pretty sure Navitas has the adapters for a DCS. |

Thanks for the clarification.
Here is the Navitas system I'm looking at; there shouldn't be any compatibility issues you think? http://www.golfcart.com/pc_product_d...6450B1DCE784D9 I guess I got worried after reading all of the nuances of these EZGO years with DCS vs. PDS and Sepex vs. Series, I was worried that my controller type wasn't listed in the Navitas user manual. |

It says DCS in the kit part number and the connector on the adapter cable looks right.
It does get confusing, so it is best to ask. |

Re: Electric 36V 97' Medalist DCS controller melty
OK so, I'm going to go with the Navitas. Now I need an upgraded solenoid. Thinking of picking up this 400A version from the same supplier.
http://www.golfcart.com/pc_product_d...BB5A5379A458D7 The solenoid on the cart looks like it has a circuit type board attached across the large terminals. What will the new set up require, will I also need a HD resistor across the terminals on the HD solenoid? |

Ask the vendor you get the controller from.
