Default Re: Lithium performance

I’ve started a new thread in the lithium section.

Feel free to drag this one off in the weeds as much as you like

I’d be interested in hearing more about the 48v>230v converter though. Hasn’t thought of ever looking those up before. Sounds very useful. How big is it and how long does it last before leaving you stranded?

Pat911 does not have 120v residential service like in the US. Australia operates on 220v, 50hz only.

Here we can use a 48v to 120v converter for power tools. They are readily available. There are also 48v to 240v converters available if you have a well pump you want to run during emergencies.

Yep, 230v 50Hz nominal (anywhere from 216v to 253v in practice) is what the mains voltage is here in Australia. For US use you would need a 48v to 120v inverter.

The inverter I have is 2500w continuous, 5000w peak pure sine wave, so with a fully charged 120Ah battery I can get around 2.5h use at full power, or I can run a 1000w appliance for around 6 hours. It’s extremely convenient to have mains power anywhere on my property at any time, especially when doing maintenance. It’s also useful for power outages, not that we have many of those.

Size wise it’s about 6” wide, 3” high and 16” long.
