2003 Carryall 472 Gearing
Cart is a 2003 Carryall 472 gas with Kawasaki axle with locker. I ordered high speed gears that supposedly fit all Kawasaki gas rear ends from ‘97-up. Short answer is that the gears swapped in fine, same bolt dimensions for ring gear, bearings pressed in from other gears, etc… The problem is that there is a 1/2” gap between the ring gear and shaft gear(pinion).
I’ve attached a photo of the gap and also one of the rear axle tag. Can anyone verify what gears fit this rear end? Perhaps I was just sent the wrong gears? In the 2004/2005 parts schematics for a Carryall 272/472 they list two transaxles, both locking, most of the parts are the same except for a few. The pinion on one has 13 teeth, and its paired with 72 tooth output gear. The pinion on the other has 12 teeth, paired with 64 tooth output gear. I have the 13/72 set in my cart and by my calculation it's 15:1 forward and 20:1 reverse. So my questions is what ratio will the other provide if these are my only option and no other gears fit? Really hoping I have some options here. Thank you all for the assist. |
