Yup those things are correct. I will swap the motor when i get home again tomorrow. I’m guessing i just leave that wire that goes into the end cap of the motor disconnect since there will Be nowhere to plug it in on the cart we’re working on.

You will need some split ring pliers to get the retaining ring out of the end of the cap to get the speed sensor out.

Flip the pds to tow, mark and remove the main pack wires first.

Angry Re: EZGO Click and a hum, no movement

I hope I’m wrong about this. But in my time thinking about this way to much i started wondering if I’ve got the wrong motor in this thing. So i started digging. First thing was i read online about how the studs of a sepex motor are different sizes…. Specify the the ones on a the main body. The s1 and s2 should be 1/4…. Mine are 5/16. second thing…. I was reading that the windings on a sempex motor are round and smaller gauge wire while a series motor is flat. Mine are flat.

There is no speed sensor on this motor either but I’m not sure that is a big deal. I attached the picture of what i was reading. I’m wondering if i have the wrong motor is this thing all along.

A DCS cart has a series wound motor and no speed sensor. A PDS cart has a sepex motor , a speed sensor, and smaller posts for F1 F2. They aren't interchangeable.

I’m not sure this is correct…. I’ve been looking for motors for my cart and my cart is a dcs cart. When looking, dcs and pds motors are sold together. Everything I’ve been reading is saying that they are both sepex/regen motors.

I did take the motor out of my pds cart and put it in my dcs cart. And low and behold…… it works!!!! Finally it works!!!! This has taken me a very very very long time. Longer than I’d like to admit. But it appears I’ve had the wrong motor in it all along.

In the image i have the 2 middle carts….. I’m not a golf cart electric motor guy so i for sure could have gone wrong somewhere.

So apparently the DCS takes a sepex motor with no speed sensor. I guess that was tripping me up. Glad you got it going.

DCS is a sepex motor. Its field studs are marked S1, S2 and are 5/16”.
