Default 1999 ez go workhorse lift

I recently purchased a 1999 workhorse. Want to lift it up. Have read some on this site and figured I want to put a new axle under the front instead of drop spindles.
On ebay they have these kits now for as little as $79 plus $39 shipping. $118 seems pretty cheap. Can anyone give me any pros or cons on this. I am attaching the url. If someone has a chance to look at these and give me some input I would appreciate it. thanks

I saw that the url will not work for some reason. The ebay item number is 170445238777. Another way to look the lift kit up.

There are plenty of lift kits designed for Workhorse vehicles available from our site sponsors. A $120 off of ebay is junk - A lift kit is not the place to start skimping on costs!

On the gas workhorses Jakes lift kits are better than the others. ezgo already lifted these carts in the ST line of carts so most all the parts you need to do-it-yourself are there. (it's not to bad doing the front but the rear can be a pain if you don't have the tools and knowledge). The cheaper lifts like allsports ones are more of an after thought just to make something work with the workhorse. the way the rear part of the lift is (in my opinion) questionable at best. they've takin all the spring mounts in the rear and put it on stilts. anytime you feel the need to use foot long spring shackles to lift something up, it's time to re-think what your doing. Sure the allsports type of lifts are cheaper, I think that's the key there "cheap". If you can't mod and do the lift yourself with ezgo parts, get the Jakes lift kit on the workhorse. ezgo also sells a lift for them but I believe it cost more than the Jakes.
The kit you listed from ebay won't work for your cart.

Ok, Thanks for the info guys. I looked at the Jake's 6215 kit for the workhorse and it did have different parts for the rear lift than any of the other kits I have seen. ruready, am I understanding this right, that I could use parts from a ST series ez go to do the lift? Thanks a gain for the help!

You can use a Factory ST lift - Yes. You will need to do some cutting on the rear axle, though. If your axle tubes have the top "bump stop" bracket and rubber bumper, those will have to be cut off...

That's how we lift the Workhorse carts using the factory kits...

that's what you have to do. I would much rather have the factory parts, the st spindles are much better than any of the bolt on risers, it is the best/strongest way to do the all of it but cutting off those things can be a kinda a pain.

I guess I should try to find a parts manual for the St model so I can see what parts I need. Do you know what year or model I need them from? Is it a ST 350 your talking about. Thanks
