Default pic of new ride! need help w wiring on 80 ezgo

Just brought her home tonight.the seller swore up & down that it runs good & he seen it run but can not remember how the coil & all the ground faults(saftey switches) were hooked up? I have looked all over & can not find the info???? can anyone send me pics of their wiring for the coil & pedal/key swith?I notice there is a yellow swith comming from the firewall & a blue wire coming from the engine? what wire goes to the coil? the yellow coil seems to have power & the blue has none?
Thank you soooo very much to ignore my ignorance...HAHA

Nice ride Thimmesch1! I can tell ya right off the bat that that engine is a late 70's model 1PG Robin/Fuji Heavy Industries engine. It is wired differently than an 80's and up model. I have modified a VERY early 70's wiring diagram to match the late 70's (see signature ).

HERE is the diagram, hopefully it is clear enough. Let me know if you have any problems!

Glad to hear you got it running! There are upper end parts and some of the lower seals available for this engine. The starter/generator parts (besides the brushes) are no longer available. Most of the other parts on the cart can be found in the aftermarket... mainly online.

The backfire issue is probably due to the throttle butterfly not closing all the way when the engine is not firing but still spinning (coasting). Make sure the throttle cable is tight and the butterfly is all the way closed when the pedal is in the OFF position.

the backfire is WOT condition and at Wide Open Throttle it pops, bangs, but never stalls ,but continues to sputter with very little improvement when closing & opening the choke. see video in next backfire tread. need trouble shooting specs for the ignition(my opinion) could also be fuel system? forgot to mention ,I did clean the carb.
Thanks

just putting a rest to this tread & explaning after I got it running with help of the forum with a wiring diagram I had a backfiring issue ,then with the help of this forum realized it was the condenser. I am now going to perform an HEI conversion that was learned from this forum!!!! please support the advertisers or donate to this site!!! rather than paying a tech!! 100.00 an hr
or you will have no help!!!
Thanks again
