Re: Solenoid Problem ???
something isn,t right.....i think you need to start tracing backwards and look at the wires real good on the way ............try and ohm the wires also.......your sure your meter is good?................................

Re: Solenoid Problem ???
You can't put your meter on the two large posts when energized there the same. Negative lead of meter to -48 volts at battery pack

I think you are mistakenly thinking you will get a reading across the 2 large terminals. The solenoid is just a switch making and breaking the contact between the 2 large posts when the 2 small posts have pack voltage. You do not need the resistor and diode for testing purposes ~ you do need them for general operation. Some CC solenoids had a built in diode, they were marked with a red + on the small terminal. I hope this helps. Above is the info you need to test the solenoid. One of the solenoid big terminals connects to Battery pack +. It should show 48v+ at the solenoid. Black meter lead on Battery pack - and red on battery side of solenoid. Now, (with the cart safely on jacks) have somebody press the accelerator and when the solenoid clicks the + power on the one large terminal should come thru to the other side large terminal. At this point in the test you will have power to the controller with test leads on controller B+ and B- If yes the solenoid is working. |
