Default Governor

I have a 1988 yamaha G2. I bypassed the governor like in the tutorial, but what to do now? I see that the governor has room to move a quarter turn... does this affect anything or do you just leave it? Thank you for your time!

I ran my throttle cable straight to the carb. The rev limiter takes care of the rpm`s.
