Default engine problems

I have a yamaha g9 and when I spray starting fluid in it, it will pop and and try to fire and then it will die and i will spray it again and it fires with a pop and it never runs. I changed the plug checked compression and its getting fuel. What else should i do

Zack, I would say its not getting fuel. Pull the fuel line off the carb. and turn the motor over, and see if the pump, pumps fuel out, into a container. if it does, maybe the problem is the float chamber valve.
