What upgrades to go 25mph
Type: 97 Club Car DS (electric / 6X8V batteries, new this month)
Goal: 25 mph Who rides: (1) driver Back seat items have been removed to lighten cart; I use this cart to conduct ship visits on the base (Norfolk). The base is flat, except for the ramps to get on a couple of piers, but they are long and low degree of climb. There is no top on cart, windshield to comply with base requirements. Currently have 205.50.10 DOT approved tires, all other items are stock, have reviewed several vender sites, short of calling all of them, and would like to have a set up combinations that others have proven to work to meet this goal. Funding is not an issue, but I don’t want to make gold plated. What I have read, controllers, motors and gears to change and 2g cables, along with slight lift to run larger tires. I would prefer to keep tires and rims that I have, if required to more up a size, I will lift cart to accommodate. Current tires ride good and clear in turns with no issues. Thanks for input. Beryl |

Re: What upgrades to go 25mph
I can only speak for my cart. Mine does 30MPH on a smooth flat surface. I have 20" tires, stock controller, new batteries and a Commander motor. My torque is not the greatest, but I'm saving up for a 500 amp controller AWG 2 or 4 cables and an HP solenoid.
I hope that helps you |

The cart he asked about can be made to go 24-25 mph with the right speed control, solenoid pkg and the right motor. Cables and F&R will need upgrade also. If you would like a quote email me: scottyb@cartsunlimited.net |

Re: What upgrades to go 25mph
If it were mine, I would get a 36V series motor from PlumQuick and slap it in! Those 36V series motors do great in a 48V system. Mine runs 24mph on stock tires and stock CC 36v series motor with a 7.5" lift but I do have a 400amp alltrax controller. Can't wait to see what it will run with bigger tires. Should be a rocket ship! Check with ScottyB also, he may have a motor!

Re: What upgrades to go 25mph
36 volt motor in a 48 volt cart? Wont the 48V damage the 36V motor?
