With 72v, the 6:1's will work great for that kind of speed. |

Re: high speed gear question
Yep, thanks. I'd never put that kind of speed in a lifted cart. It'll be the best of both worlds....a big lifted torque monster and a lo, sleek asphalt burner.

Re: high speed gear question
Boke,
what motor you going to run. If your thinking a high speed motor think again man. That motor will gernade on you like the motor in the Mud Buggie did back before the B/U show did. I was over reving it when it happened and did 2 complete donuts out in front of the house that afternoon. Wife about had a fit and swore I'd never run a cat that fast again. Well she got over it but the motor was used for a door stop @ PQ for a long time afterwards. $700.00 mistake for me. Just saying! |

Re: high speed gear question
Not sure on the motor yet Andy. I'll run the stock 36v till the smoke let's out. Who knows, it might not even smoke out. I know the guys at alltrax are running 72v through a 36v motor. If and when it does let go, I'll have D&D build me one.

Re: high speed gear question
Yes I know about the stock motor on 72 volts. The motor I blew up was a 36 volts 4600 RPM motor that Robby went through for me. It was great until that one afternoon.
A stock motor will handle 8000 RPM's for a very short time. Just be carefull. If you keep it on level ground it maybe OK for awhile but if you start down a hill and floor it watch out! |
