Default Jakes Spindle Lift King Pin Issue

Just started to install new Jakes lift on my 2002 TXT Series, I pulled my old spindles off and removed kingpin tubes, but the diameter of the tubes is way too small for the new spindles, I then noticed an upper and lower brass bushing on my old spindles, removed them and had to beat them into new spindles, had to beat the tubes in, but now it wont fit into the axle, the bushings have a lip which causes it to not fit.

Is it possible the previous owner had the wrong size spindle tubes and used the bushings to make it work? Shouldn't the spindle tubes work on the Jakes spindle without having to use bushings? Thanks...

You shouldn't need to swap parts out like that. Should be a direct bolt on kit.

I used Jakes disk brake kit........and it required new spindles and kingpins..............and I had the same issue as you. I just took a rounded file and filed away alittle until they fit. You could also just use a drill........but I was afraid of taking too much off too quickly. Fits perfect now!

Husker I believe its #6207. Turns out the old spindles were the wrong size for the axle and to make them fit the previous owner used some brass bushings to take up the slack, plus the spindle tubes (kingpins) were smaller than stock. Got the right size tubes today and problem solved.

Husker I may have asked you this before, but where in South Texas do you reside? I'm a little northwest of Corpus near Mathis.
