G16 no start

i recently pulled the motor and replaced the piston and rings and set the valves. i put the motor back in and drove it around for about 10min. After about 10min the engine just died. Now it wont start. There is spark from the plug. it acts like it is back firing through the carb. There is plenty of gas in the tank. Any suggestions where to start trouble shooting?

Might check the valves again, maybe a valve stuck and lost a push rod.
