Club car doesn't go in reverse

I have been doing 6 day weeks at new job and haven't got to look at 97 club car- however - the wife was there this weekend and said it started great, it started easily, however it wouldn't go into reverse.

I wont get a chance to actually see it for another week or so

when I do, where should I start?

Take the cable off at the transaxle and shift the lever by hand. If it shifts fine it's a cable problem. Most of the time it's the cable.
