Default Muffler

Everything in the cart is running good, EXCEPT the muffler. Its too **** close tot the muffler. It has a 1/2 of clearence. I put some sheet metal next on the gas tank as a heat shield. Do yall think that'll help or do I need to do something else. Where can I get a muffler thats smaller? Is there a different muffler that emptys out to the starter side. I dont have a welder so there would be no real way to do anything custom. Thanks!!

Mine is very close to the seat, the best solution was a roll of heat sheild insulation from napa, they claim 2000` temp tolerance but I can tell you from my "seat of the pants" it really made a huge differance.A 2x4 roll was 18.00.

I would put the actual metal shield right next to the muffler, and put a layer of HVAC insulation around the gas tank.

Im talking to Tom on making me up something. I just dont like that muffler that close at all. It will make me happier in the long run I think. But if not, Thats what I'll probably have to do that. Thanks

I have had another thought. Would a gas tank from another cart work? Maybe something that was narrower? Thanks
