A good rebuildable 295 or 350 engine is worth around $250 (-shipping) when used as an exchange core for a rebuilt engine.

So I wasn't too far off at 300.

Always wondered why that number is so low when a new crank for a EH35C goes for over $2400. One would think that just the crank alone, used, would be worth a few hundred dollars at a minimum. Supply and demand I guess.

Bought my '03 EZGO with a bad engine off of Craigslist.... belonged to a company that maintains cemeteries. It was nasty and poorly maintained. It broke a piston in the ring grooves & left the piston top stationary with the rest of the piston riding in the bore. Didn't hurt block or rotating assy. Sold the engine and related parts to somebody on this site... starter/generator, exhaust system, carb, & clutch for a little more than I'd paid for the cart AND the good used 18hp Vanguard I bought also off of Craigslist. Bought swap kit, new clutches, belt, rev kit, changed cam & valve springs, wheels/tires. A little fabricatin' on the throttle linkage, wiring and muffler and I've been running it for the past 3-4 yrs. pretty reliably. Keeps eating nylon starter gears though.
