took short belt off - still no reverse

2013 Valor 13 Kawa, used a 1 inch shorter belt for a while and just gave up on reverse. Just switched back to a G Boost spring and spec belt and still no reverse. I tried it by hand also with the FNR cable disconnected and it up on jack stands. There is a light grind more like a heavy ticking not metal on metal. I also checked and changed gear oil (it was full).

Thinking i broke something, searched the forum w/ o much luck and looking for a manual, if anyone has any guidance I appreciate it.

Fixed! interesting lesson I will share. With both wheels free wheeling on jack stands the gears will not engage, forward or reverse. So when testing the reverse shifting linkage it was not catching. By putting the non drive wheel on the ground, I was able to adjust the FNR cable to bring reverse to work.
