Default Yamaha Drive vs CC DS build

Looking for opinions on which direction to go...

I own a late 90's CC DS toaster cart that will need everything under the seat replaced except for the motor. (Batteries, cables, controller, inverters) It will get converted to 48v and built with ScottyB's kits. It will also need brakes, suspension beefed & lifted, wheels and tires.

A local place is selling "fresh off the course" 100% original 2015 Yamaha DC Drive carts for $2850. It will need suspension? lift, wheels & tires, back seat. I don't know enough about what is under the seat to know if stock is fine or it will need upgrading too.

The cart will be campground/home use. five person, heavy load, high torque. I'm not worried about top speed. Would it be worth it to get a newer cart or stick with an older?

Unfounded personal opinion based on hearsay warning:
Sepex > series
Yamaha G22 > G29
EZ-GO > Club Car
48V > 36V

Ha. I don’t know. I personally like Club Car and I love the Yamaha drive. I like Sepex too I guess- its a little tougher to work on. And obviously 48v. [emoji4]

All a matter of opinion. You'll get 10 different answers from 10 different people.

I knew this making the post and I'm ok with it. I can only study specs for so long before I'll get impatient and make a decision just to be done with it.

I know the CC and everything I want to do and it'll be what I want when it's done. The Yamaha seems a little bigger, a lot newer but I don't know enough about the drive. What they'll take puts them close to what I'll spend on the CC

i love my yamaha G9, but club cars don't rust :) I've got 2 yamahas... fixed my frame of the G9 this past weekend (rotted under the battery tray, pretty common from what I understand) and the other yamaha has a lot of rust issues, haven't even started working on that one yet.
