Anybody have a service manual for a 1984 Ezgo?

This is the same manual. I didn't even pay attention to the engine tag showing that it was an 84. That was my fault for not looking.
Show us a picture of the entire cart. I'm interested in seeing what they did with it.

They could have changed the engine, and rear axle, or they could have changed the body on an old frame. I would have expected the frame to be green if they did that.

Page F-1 is what you are looking for. I see that they ran a cable up behind the exhaust for your throttle. That is not where it should be.

When I first looked, I just assumed it was the governor cable. Again, my fault for not paying attention.

A closer picture of your carb cables would also help us to rig this.

Dabble Inn nailed it when he spotted the homemade throttle cable.

I'll post a picture of the cart. But from what I can tell. Either the motor was changed or the body. Or both. I've got a mess on my hands. :)

Here's more pictures. The more I look at it the worse the problem gets. Definitely opened a can of worms on this one. Lol

I think the front end was changed. I removed my 87 cowl, and installed a 91 cowl. I did not change the steering, dash area, or floorboards where the data tag is. It looks like they did change that on yours.

Take a close look at your Forward/ Reverse switch. The driver's side of that switch has a small microswitch that activates the reverse buzzer. All 2 stroke carts have that switch.

In 1986 they added a second microswitch to the passenger side of the Forward/ Reverse switch. If you do not have that second switch, I would say your cart was originally an 84. I also do not see air vent louvers that were added around 1988.

EDIT: I do see a fuse holder mounted in the bottom of the FnR switch. I have no idea when that was added. My 87 does not have that, nor does my brother's 83.

Are these the air vent louvers?

I have a 91 electric with rear leaf springs.

I don't know if they did an entire body swap on an 84 chassis, or if they stuck an 84 rear end, springs, cradle, and engine into a 91. Either way, you will just have to be careful when ordering parts. It looks like they did a decent job except for the throttle cable.

Once you get that taken care of, it should be a pretty good cart.
