Default Issues running well

It seems like my fuel pump is flooding my motor every time ... here’s a description of the problems happening

1.starts
2.smoking and not able to rev up at all, check the plugs , completely soaked
3.disconect the fuel pump output going to carburetor , obviously working . Although it seems like an excessive amount of gas coming out with a lot of force...good thing I suppose
4. Take of the input line of the pump and try and start . Starts , and revs up immediatly to full throttle until pump housing runs out of fuel

I’ve replaced the fuel filter
Replaced plugs
Idle air mixture is set to what it ran best with

4-5 hours on rebuild

Any ideas ?

agree, could also be the float needle valve stuck.

The need seat not working or a heavy float could cause the flooding; did you happen to check fuel pressure and carb vent?

I had another thought...
And at the risk of insulting you... bearing in mind that I’m no stranger to brain farts... It happens... did you perhaps pull the jet to clean it and forget to put it back?... Just a thought

Update , put a small shim on the fuel filter inlet making it get less fuel , will run up to high rpm now , still backfiring though, assuming either broken diaghpram or fuel pump, or carb , most likely needle . Going to disassemble tonight ! And clean
