Y cable for onboard charger?
Will it work if I wire one end of a Y parallel to a Lester Summit ii charger, then I connect the middle SB175 to a 48v lithium battery, and then I wire the other end to a couple of main ring terminals? Should I install a kill switch going to the charger?

Re: Y cable for onboard charger?
Never “y”the output of a smart charger. The charger is set to look at certain parameters for the output current, phases and times.
You can however parallel a second charger off the ac input to charge a standalone battery for example a small 12v for a radio if you wanted to keep it separate from the main vehicle source, but remember to always keep that 12v b+ and b- circuit from the 48v b+ and b- circuit. |
