Default Damaged Throttle Shaft. Ok To Use Lube?

Here is the throttle shaft from my HL-231B carb. Is this sort of damage normal? Is it ok to use something like white lithium grease to lube holes where the shaft sits?

Don't think the lube would stay very long. I would replace the shaft. I'm sure it is leaking air around it, bypassing the air filter.

Oh I fully intended to replace it. It's only $20 for a new one from golfcartcare.com I was just wondering if there is anyway to slow down the wear and tear. After I posted, I thought to myself lithium grease would be a bad idea anyways. Sand and dirt will get trapped at the opennings and speed up the damage.

Try a lawn mower repair shop for repair parts for the HL series carb. That wear is from many years of use don't worry about it just replace worn parts.
