Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
agreed that looks pretty steep.
Since the engine does not over hang the front mounting tongue on the cradle, it may be be easier to modify the cradle than the crossmember in the cart? square is easier than curved, though that's a really nice job you did Ron! |

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
Using the stock engine mount works like a champ, if we're talking about a G16. The engine can be leveled as much as needed. Unistrut or billet blocks...

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
On my G16 I used a combination of bevel and flat washers to reduce the angle.

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
Jakes 6 inch LT lift kit. Two options have been mentioned here. 1. Brace the engine in the rear to make level. 2. Lower the front of the swing arm to make level. How would I do this. Does anyone have any ideas or pics.

Drew up some plans for a mounting plate and took it down to the steel yard and they made it for me for $25. 1/4" steel. This way it gives me a little wiggle room.

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
There you go. Looks like one you'd have to buy for $75. Good work.

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
Are you planning on using any vibration isolaters? It might not be necessary with a smooth running Vanguard, but it wouldn't hurt...

Re: 23 HP Engine placement concens
Well...... was messing around at tractor supply today and came up with an idea. Decided to cut up a ramp board that I never use. Can anyone see where I am going with this? I am going to try to put in a 4 link. Going to level up the motor carrier and weld in a slightly lowered cross member about 6 inches away from the brake / gas pedel towards the rear and use this old ramp to link between the two and do like a long travel rear 4 link motor carrier. We will see what happens. Some day I have got to learn how to weld.
