Default Workhorse 350cc Hard To Get Up To Speed

Workhorse ezgo 350cc will start but is boggs down when you give it throttle in neutral or in gear. If you can ever get it running from a dead stop it will run fine. Let off gas and stop, and you go through the same thing. Have changed coil, carb, checked valve adjustments, pulsar coil, new plugs, and I am confused why it will not run good at the low end.

What should the compression be?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Timing belt may have jumped a tooth. Compression will vary but I think people shoot for 120? Or above.

Mine did this about 5 years ago. My fuel lines were collapsing. I replaced them with automotive grade lines that have the metal strip inside them and the problem went away.

Also check for oil in the pulse tube, that'll slow down your fuel delivery REAL fast

Also check the fuel filter.

I use the larger B&S filters so that it is not straining for fuel.

After a while, these Robin engines will build up a lot of carbon
from the exhaust valves all the way out to the muffler..

I have had my best results, AFTER all else (fuel, fuel delivery, air, spark and all
that) by cleaning that up.

In other words, I have done some el cheapo rebuilds on some of my Robin
engines, using all the same parts, just cleaning all the carbon out and
tightening everything up to specs, etc. and solved that problem.

I also know that premium high octane fuel will change the performance on
old engines. If you pull the carb on one and the rear manifold, you can look almost straight through the engine, and that carbon build up is a killer.
