Tom, I lashed the valves, @. 005, Read factory is. 004, and have read some post from other members they said. 006.
I will,recheck the valves. Is. 005 good, or should I go up,or,down?
Thanks again for all,the advice. Will keep you posted
Better loose than tight. When I do valves, I do them the same way we did on the PS car. this will work with ANY engine, regardless of cam, be it grandma's car or a top fuel car. Rotate the engine (in the direction of rotation of course) and when you see the exhaust valve start to open, adjust the intake on that cylinder. Then when you see the intake start to close, adj the exhaust on that cylinder. That will work with any 4 stroke motor regardless of cam duration. I know a lot of guys like to do this thing turn the engine to this point and adj this and that valve then one more turn and adjust the rest. That can be OK, but if you ever have a non stock cam, or a cam that is advanced or retarded, that may or may not work. What I described eliminates any error like that.
You said the weather is not cooperating? It is cold here with wind chill in the single digits and I was just pulling the oil tank out of mine outside. In fact, changed a motor on a Ford Explorer outside too! LOL!
Best wishes and hope your issue is minor, easy to fix, and costs NOTHING!
