Default fnr switch for gas ezgo

Can someone please help me? I have a 88 ezgo that has a me29 rear end and I have a 16hp briggs. I just got a fnr switch and I'm not sure if I got the right one or not?

Wish I could help. The me29 rear end, I assume that is one with a reverse gear? 16HP briggs, that is going to be one cool ride!

It looks as if you have the original selector. That was designed to have several cables connected that controlled the flow of voltage to the generator so that it could run in reverse to start the old 2 stroke in reverse. Since the Briggs only runs one direction, you will need the newer selector to control your rear end, kicking it into either forward or reverse. Here is a shot of the service guide showing the setup.

Sorry about that 88. I know nothing about EZGO carts. I guess I assumed that the 88, 89, 90 were 2 stroke's and that switch would work for your application. If you want I will refund your $21 and you can just keep the part. I'm not out to screw anybody by no means and I always want to keep the peace.
