Re: Caroche Runabout
Hello all,
I received my Carts unlimited Solid State upgrade kit, and although the install is a couple weeks away, I was thinking about wiring colors. This is a series cart upgrade so no 16 pin connector, and no wire harness etc. Yep, this is probably a really stupid question, but what color wire might be considered "standard" for the low amp runs like: F & R Toggle switch to Reversing Contactor Throttle micro-switch to Solenoid and Solenoid to controller. I know they are mostly all positive or negative, and thus could be red and black, but what is standard practice to make later diagnostics easier? Thank you, Aflyer |

Re: Caroche Runabout
Nothing stupid about that question. Are there standard colors? Whatever you do sketch it out and take photos. Keep the pics coming!

Re: Caroche Runabout
I guess there are no standard or preferred colors for the secondary wiring.

Re: Caroche Runabout
Yep. Do what you want and choose your colors. That's what I would do.

Re: Caroche Runabout
Generally, I prefer to use red for the (+) and black or green for the (-)
You see this in my diagrams. This is a simple system 2 or 3 colors will do. |

Re: Caroche Runabout
Kashmir,
You are correct, here are a couple of the latest examples are: $140 to sandblast and powder coat the wheels $ 80 to sandblast and powder coat the front end plates and brackets. $ 65 to machine the original Brake back plates to fit the new axle housings. It could be worse, I could be working on a Corvette. Aflyer |

I agree, but being anal retentive, and OCD, I have to to it, LOL As an example I we have two positive wires from the F & R switch, one for forward and one for reverse. They van both be red, but if it was common practice to have a different color for each, I can do that too. George |
