Re: Controller or motor?
Yep stock cart. Ok yeah thanks I will do the test in the morning
See that’s what I was not sure of, if the controller can fail in a way that it still engages solenoid. |

Re: Controller or motor?
About 15% of morics fail this way. (Kind of a guess, it's an uncommon failure mode, but have seen several failed this way)

Re: Controller or motor?
Wow yeah it’s my first time experiencing that type of failure. The type of failure I’ve seen a few times is when the cart goes dead while driving and you have to keep flipping the tow/run. Apparently the controller believes a charger is plugged in and cuts the cart out lol.

Re: Controller or motor?
Well after tinkering it turned out the motor was the problem. Started driving violently jerky after a while and having to depress pedal numerous times until finally died out. Did both tests, had no continuity between A1 and A2 posts and no turning thanks everyone

Re: Controller or motor?
Yep. Motor. More than likely the motor has gotten water in it. Had one do the same thing. Easy fix though. Remove back cover, lift cart and remove wires, unplug speed sensor and remove the three 10mm bolts holding the motor to the rearend. Slide the motor off (may have to give it a couple love taps and use a flat head screwdriver to pry loose) Just be ready because it weighs 52lbs when it drops. Take it apart (removing other 10mm bolts, again love taps to get loose), separate and clean good "CRC Electra-Motor Cleaner", let air dry, put back together and you're good to go.

Wow surprised you need to pry or tap it off. When I replace these motors they usually are hanging by a thread once the bolts are out and any slight shift will make it fall off. Never had one stuck on the input shaft either |

Re: Controller or motor?
I haven't had any stuck either, they tend to just fall off.
Stock motor is garbage, id get the customer a better upgraded motor. |

Re: Controller or motor?
Not referring to Yamaha drives only, but golf carts in general... Had many stuck. If I were referring to drives only, than yes, they fall off. The "drag it around the yard" trick actually works good for stuck motors.
