Default Electric Yamaha Up To Pushing A Car

New to the golf cart world. Looking at getting rid of my 4-wheeler and get a golf cart to use at the track to push my race car "2600lb mustang" I would say 75% of the people at the track use carts to push there cars. I am not sure if most of them or gas or electric. From talking to a few it seems gas is preferred. I am wondering if newer 2010+ the 48v Yamaha would be up to task? Would they need upgrades? gas be a better bet?

I've heard that electric has more torque at lower speeds. Not from personal experience though. You can get a higher torque motor and controller. I don't know what you can do to the gas ones. The 48v Yamaha was made since the early 2000's (G19/G22).

The 48v Yamaha was introduced in 1996, as the G19 model. I think a stock cart could do the job, but it might not live forever like that. The stock motors are the weak link in a heavy duty application. I would keep wheel size totally stock if you are gonna attempt this with all stock power train.
