Default I solved the steering wheel horn button issue

I recently purchased an aftermarket steering wheel with a horn button in the center. I searched on this forum to see how to wire it but everyone said it couldn't be done because the horn wire would wrap around the steering column. I decided to go another route. I purchased a remote momentary switch from Ebay for $19 dollars. I was able to take the remote apart and wire the steering wheel horn button directly to the remote circuit board switch. I then wrapped the circuit board in electrical tape for insulation. It fit between the steering wheel hub and the steering wheel perfectly. I actually works great!! Hope it helps someone out there.

What an excellent idea! Thank you for sharing this. Wanted to add a horn like this to my westerns.

so I guess the only down side is you have to remove the steering wheel to replace the battery when it goes dead, right?

Yep. I dont know how long that it will last but I assume it should be for a while. I dont use it that often and its only 6 screws when needed.
