Ok,
so the tie in for the controller on the control circuit was feed off the B- of the supply. Correct. This would make it 48 because of the ground. Nice, I like the schematic program. It does a good job.

This is a simplified schematic (I left out the FNR switch and some other things for clarity) of what he did showing split sourcing.....His solenoid "sees" 36 Volts.....
