The question is which breather is on it; square or round?
I think that's it, same seller.

Once you get it pulled all the way apart, pay careful attention and keep up with the balancer and crank spacers. Don't lose them as they are specific to each engine built as far as their thicknesses. Ziploc bags and a marker will come in very handy as you keep up with all the bolts for each part of the engine. Some are longer than others and if you try to put the wrong ones in you will damage the aluminum. Please don't think I'm underestimating your abilities, just know from experience with these engines. If you follow the engine service guide carefully you won't have any problems getting that engine fixed right up. I found it to be very rewarding when I pressed the pedal the first time after getting my 350 back together and hearing her roar back to life good as new! Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

I got the 350cc part kit but had the WRONG manual. Thank you!!

I am competent, but only if properly caffeinated.

Thanks again, will post back when the kit is in!

PS: Want pics of the rebuild?

So I got the kit off eBay, and proceeded to tear the engine down.

The piston rings were loose to the point that outside of the engine they can almost fall off.

So, while there appear to be other issues with the engine, that appears to be the biggest issue and what I think is the source of burning through the oil.

So. Here is my issue now. The kit off eBay shipped with .25 OS pistons and rings. The pistons from the engine are fine. But I don't want to have to bore the block since we had that done on another engine and now I think it has a cracked block. Good machine shops down here are pretty much not existent.

I contacted the vendor on eBay and he said he doesn't carry the OEMs. So I may try the .25 OS rings but I am sure that won't work. Is there a good place to get OEM rings?

Ideas?

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!! (yes shouting was intentional, it means a LOT)

Regards,

DB

Check out the site sponsors. The 25 rings won't work with std pistons.

Cowboy is right - You're going to either have to bore or get new pistons AND rings ...

I can't seem to find new OEM rings. I got two sets off Amazon since we have an event this Sunday and needed the cart if possible and they can overnight....

The part was OEM in description and the part sent is the .50 OS....

Anyone know where to get the OEM? I keep looking, but if I can't trust to get what they say it is...

wth
